Xinyu Qian, founder of Meiro Ceramics, ceramicist, artist.
Graduating with a Fine Art degree from UAL Chelsea College of Arts, Xinyu carries her thinking into the realm of ceramics, where ideas take form through clay. Each year, she journeys to Jingdezhen to work alongside master ceramicists, continuously refining her craft and evolving a language that flows between fine art and material tradition.
Her pottery is distinguished by asymmetrical, organic, and irregular forms that embody the rhythm of controlled flow. Each series is accompanied by its own uniquely developed glaze, created to deepen the dialogue between surface and form.
Balancing artistry with utility, her work reflects reflection on collaboration with coffee shops and florists, resulting in vessels that are both functional and visually striking. Designed to elevate daily rituals, these pieces serve as the perfect companion in use, and—when at rest—stand as statement objects that enrich the home.
